The iPad 2 has also added a front and back camera for still photos and video recording, with the rear camera allowing HD recording at up to 30 fps and still photography with 5x digital zoom while the front offers a VGA-quality still camera and VGA recording of up to 30 fps, with convenient tap controls to control exposure settings.The Apple iPad 2 has garnered nearly universal positive reviews for the improvements it has made over the first generation iPad tablet computer. However, one of the things that many users appreciated which stayed the same was the navigation system and the controls, which means that if you already familiar with the iPad, you’ll have no trouble using this new model. Another aspect many reviewers liked is its lightweight dimensions, which made it very comfortable to hold, even when you’re using it for long periods of time. The iPad2 weighs just over a pound and has a depth of only .34 inch, making it just 2/3 as thick as the original iPad. The RAM has also been doubled to 512MB from 256MB, while the processor is now the 1GHz dual-core Apple A5. While casual users may not notice much of a difference, for serious gamers the new specifications mean that you’ll enjoy faster graphics processing with smoother images and less jerky movements.However, the reviews were not totally positive. One of the features that received the most criticism in the iPad2 was the cameras, since many users felt that the video quality was not up to par, although most found it adequate. The cameras also lacked a flash, which made it more difficult to take good pictures or video in dim light. Some reviewers added that the iPad2 was not appropriate for doing work since it had no USB port or SD card slot and you had to connect it to your desktop or laptop computer if you want to transfer files or print out photos or documents. The iPad2 also has no provision for a spare battery so when battery life runs out, you have to wait until it recharges before you can use it again.Despite the quibbles, the Apple iPad2 remains one of the most popular tablet computes because of its portability as well as for its increased processing power. And the increased RAM means that you can multitask by having more applications open at once without slowing down the tablet. The iPad2 can also boast of nearly 70,000 apps for both professional and recreational purposes that you can download from the App store.
